Sharing your Data using Datahubs

GenAP offers an easy way to share your data on the Web by providing an application that we call "Datahub". Within your Workspace, simply copy the files to a Datahub dedicated location and it becomes automatically exposed on the Web (publicly or privately).

To create a Datahub, simply click "Add an application" in your Workspace and select "Datahub". It will be created in a matter of seconds. Each Datahub has a unique URL address.

You can decide to make a Datahub "public" or private". Public means it will be visible by anyone having its URL address, while private means that only the members of the Workspace can access it upon authentication through the GenAP portal.

Please refer to the following tutorial to understand the storage organization in your GenAP Workspace and how to manage it:

Publish your Datahub on the Compute Canada CVMFS

Compute Canada provides repositories of software and data via a file system called the Cern Virtual Machine File System (CVMFS). This service allows to share seamlessly and efficiently your data (especially the very large files) across all the nodes on all the compute resources of Compute Canada.

It is very easy on GenAP to publish the content of an entire Datahub on the CC CVMFS. Visit the following instruction page for all the details on this subject:
